My Philosophy

  • As an Evolutionary Astrologer, the primary focus of my readings is facilitating the evolution of each client’s spirit and soul by helping them discover and align to their own unique, higher purpose.

  • While astrology is archetypally predictive, concrete outcomes are a result of how each individual deals with the cosmic vibrational influences they encounter. A good reading can help you process past events, prepare for future influences and embrace the present with love and compassion for others and yourself.

  • Astrology has been around for over 5,000 years, so there are many approaches, concepts and schools of thought about how it “should” be done. Dogmatic beliefs about these can myopically restrict one’s vision, so I study and embrace many different styles and concepts of astrology because you never know what will resonate with a client’s soul. There is no single “right” way to practice this craft.

  • All of the different theories within astrology are the result of millions of datapoints that have been collected over the ages. The founder of analytical psychology Carl Jung described astrology as “the sum of all the psychological knowledge of antiquity.” I treat it as a gift from our ancestors to be cherished, respected and shared with love.

My Chart Reading Style

  • Collaborative- I engage in conversations with my clients to meet them where they’re at and to discover and pursue resonant meaning

  • Educational- With clear language, relatable analogies and wit, I explain possible house, sign, planetary and aspect interpretations, so clients aren’t lost in a haze of astrobabble

  • Detailed- Specific planetary placements and aspects are cited to support possible interpretations

  • Left-Brain- The logical and mathematical data (i.e. placements, aspects, etc.) are laid out and examined to discern patterns

  • Right-Brain- Once the raw data is digested, the intuitive mind is inspired. Sometimes specific myths, songs and other images are shared to mine the client’s unconscious psyche for gems of meaning

  • On-going independent research opportunities- Clients get notes that detail their specific placements and aspects that led to possible interpretations, as well as links for further study, so they can continue their research independently after the reading.

  • Recorded- Clients are encouraged to record their readings because so much information is shared and it’s hard to remember it all. Clients have told me that they often relisten to their readings and always pick up something new each time.

Techniques and Concepts
That I Use

  • Tropical/Western Zodiac

  • Modern and Traditional Concepts may be applied

  • Usually the Placidus House system unless client was born at extreme latitudes

  • Houses interpreted using primary planetary motion (standard correspondence to natural zodiac sign) as well as diurnal motion to track the evolutionary stages of the individual

  • Natal and Progressed Lunar Phases

  • All Ptolemeic and “Minor” aspects, such as semi square, sesquisquare, quintiles, and septiles may be examined

  • Harmonic relationships, aspects and harmonic planetary pairings may be leveraged

  • Sabian Symbols sometimes add color to readings

  • Earth-proximity is a consideration

  • Historical events and well-known individuals with similar astrology charts may be referenced

  • Declination and “Out-of-bonds” planets factor into my readings

  • Progressed and transiting planetary placements and aspects are used

  • Parental influences as reflected by sun/moon placements as well as 4th and 10th houses can be enlightening as well

  • And many more

Freewill or Fate?

I believe that even though astrology can alert us to the presence of specific energies at specific times, we have independent agency and can manage these forces with free will. Furthermore, our increased awareness of these energies enables us to work with them with even greater independence and personal agency.

That said, perhaps the premise that fate and freewill are mutually exclusive concepts is flawed. While logic seems to dictate, that belief in fate precludes the exercise of freewill and vice versa, renowned Astrologer, Rick Levine, references quantum physics to explain that both (fate and freewill) can be true.

Contemporary science tells us that light can be a wave (energy), but when it is observed, it is a proton (matter). (See the “Double Slit Experiment” for details) Levine postulates that perhaps freewill works like a wave of energy, but when observed, it becomes matter and appears as a fate. Intriguing isn't it?

Another way to look at it is to say that even if our lives may be fated to be a certain way, our perception or observation of it can actually fundamentally change it, just like the behavior of light changes when observed. Astrology provides us with an observer’s perspective, and that elevated detachment can be extraordinarily empowering.
