Saturn/Jupiter Opening Square Part 3 - Return of the Jedi?

This Sunday’s Saturn/Jupiter square will be the 3rd square they’ve formed since August of 2024. Due to the apparent retrograde motion of planets (in this case Jupiter), an aspect like this square may occur 3 times, and often, we can examine circumstances during earlier occurrences to determine how later episodes will play out. So let’s do that here.

Part I - A New Hope?

Jupiter first formed its opening 90 degree angle with Saturn in August of 2024, and the tension between expansion (Jupiter) and restriction (Saturn) hit its first peak. In the US, Kamala Harris had taken over for Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee for President. One could say that the old, male authority figure (Saturn) was taking a back seat to a new generation of leadership (Jupiter). The fact that this change occurred at all is indicative of on opening square’s tendency to create discomfort (Biden’s debate performance) and compel action (replacing him on the ticket).

On both sides of the aisle, people were mobilized and felt a need to act in August. Some promoting Harris’ candidacy and other’s attacking it.

Globally at that time, Ukraine had just begun to take a more offensive and expansive approach (Jupiter) to their defense by attacking targets on Russian soil. While in regards to Gaza, Israeli citizens and others increased pressure on their government (Saturn) to end the conflict. Ceasefires and hostage releases were in active negotiation.

Regardless of what your opinion is on these things, they represent action prompted by a desire to resolve tension and discomfort.

Part II - The Empire Strikes Back?

Moving on to the next square in December of 2024, Trump had just won the US presidential election, and the North Koreans joined Russia in their attack on Ukraine, helping them make significant gains in the Donetsk region. Meanwhile in Gaza, hopes for a ceasefire faded as the humanitarian crisis worsened. Tension and discomfort were increasing and prompting more action in the form of preparations for a new administration in the US and increasing violence and armed conflict abroad.

Again, no matter what your opinion is, this occurrence of the square represented old or established power reasserting itself and causing an increase in tensions prompting others to act.

Part III - Return of the Jedi?

That brings us to Sunday June 15, 2025. which will be one day after the military parade celebrating Trump’s (and supposedly the Army’s) birthday and a week or so after his administration deployed US military to Los Angeles. Recently we’ve also seen Israel and Iran exchange military attacks, so again this Opening Square features Saturnian entities (established authority figures and governments) creating tension and discomfort, this time by reacting with military displays to assert their dominance. We’ve also seen some Jupiterian entities, namely US Federal Courts, prompted to action by this tension and question the current administration’s authority (Saturn) to execute these military deployments. It remains to be seen how effective their efforts will be, but I expect we may see others follow this lead. Maybe universities, sports organizations and foreign coalitions (all associated with Jupiter) will join the fight against militarized Saturnian rule.

That said, you can do something too. If you want to impact the Societal Change that began during the Great Conjunction of December 2020, you can embody the change you want to see. As the Hopi Indian Prophecy foretells, “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.” So please be safe, be kind, but be heard.
